    The territory surrounding L’Arca di Noè offers a great deal of activities for nature and history enthusiasts.

    Polinago – 11 Km

    Ponte Ercole (Wikipedia) or Ponte del Diavolo which is the name of a natural monolith 33 meters long, 3 meters wide and 3 meters high, which joins a valley that borders three municipalities, Pavullo, Lama Mocogno and Polinago. This place, where pagan rituals were once celebrated, has probably contributed to generating the many legends about this splendid natural monument.

    Prignano sulla Secchia – 11 Km
    Immersed in nature, Prignano offers many historic places to visit, such as numerous churches and oratories and several memorial sites. For lovers of horse riding, visit the Arca Trek Equestrian Center.

    Brandola – 13 Km

    The Castle of Brandola  can be reached along a steep road surrounded by a forest of chestnut trees, – which is also part of a wider trekking itinerary, and crossing the arch will lead to the village which is surrounded by walls.
    The Bagni di Brandola are an ancient source of sulfurous water easily reachable from the castle along a suggestive path in the middle of nature. For centuries the spring water was considered curative and miraculous, so that it was bottled and sold.

    Lama Mocogno – 19 Km
    Surrounded by nature it offers attractions, both, in the winter for skiing, and in the summer with an outdoor pool, tennis courts, bocce and tumbling, motocross and go-kart tracks and two ponds equipped for sport fishing and of course, the possibility of walking along an easy urban trail through the woods in the cool shade of the trees.

    Pavullo nel Frignano – 21 Km
    Among the beauties to admire in the village are the towers of Gaiato and Lavacchio with murals on the facades of the houses, the church of San Giovanni Battista di Renno (VIII-IX century), the Palazzo Ducale and the Church of San Vincenzo in the Parish of Monteobizzo.

    Coscogno – 22 Km

    Coscogno is home to a seventeenth century parish church, built on a previous sixth-seventh century parish church of which the portal can still be admired.

    Maranello – 24 Km
    Since 1943 Maranello has been the headquarters of the Ferrari factory, the prestigious car company founded by Enzo Ferrari and home the Ferrari Museum.

    Particularly interesting is this Church, a perfect example of “17th century Apennines” according to the Ministry for Cultural Assets and Activities as well as the bridge built in 1522, which crosses the Scoltenna stream.

    Montecuccolo – 25 Km

    The Castle of Montecuccolo, built between 1019 and 1027 and the adjoining medieval village with the church of San Lorenzo, built in 1577. Restored in May 2009, it was reopened to the public on February 13th  2013.
    The castle of Montecuccolo hosts the Montecuccolo Museum Center (CEM), which includes the Frignano Naturalistic Museum “Ferruccio Minghelli” and the “Gino Covili” art collection.

    Sassoguidano – 27 Km

    Here you can visit the church dedicated to the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle, or enjoy the nature of the Sassoguidano Regional Reserve.

    Fiorano Modenese – 27 Km

    Places of interest are, the sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of the Castle, the church dedicated to St. John the Baptist and the church of San Giovanni where the tomb of the Italian patriot Ciro Menotti is kept, as well as the villas Coccapani, Guastalla, Cuoghi, Messori, Pace and Campori.
    The castle of Spezzano houses the municipal vinegar museum and the ceramics museum  and the added Ethnic Museum with educational activities dedicated to schools and families.
    Fiorano is also the motor city and hosts the Ferrari Track, the Gilles Villeneuve Pilot Monument and the Jody Scheckter Mini Autodrome for model cars.
    For hot summer days there is an outdoor communal swimming pool.
    Nature lovers will appreciate the Salse di Nirano Nature Reserve which also has a Facebook page. It is a place particularly suitable for those who travel with children like a visit to the Castle of Spezzano. Also therefore you’ll find a Facebook page.
